How we manage our land
Our primary focus on BC Bengal Farm is regenerating the soil through tried‑and‑true regenerative agriculture practices . We limit chemical usage to preserve vital soil microorganisms, plant a wide variety of species to boost biodiversity, and use livestock in rotational‑grazing system that mimics natural systems — all to cycle nutrients, stimulate plant growth and build organic matter. Healthier soil means healthier plants, which means healthier animals and ultimately a more nutritious product for you.
How we manage our animals
Our lambs and chickens are pasture‑raised and cared for with precision: the lambs graze beside their mothers on lush pastures, and the chickens forage freely on fresh grass and insects. Through a planned rotational‑grazing system, we move our flocks regularly so they always have access to the best quality forage. There are no growth hormones and antibiotics are used only when absolutely necessary—so when you choose our meat, you’re getting cleaner, healthier flavour from animals raised the way nature intended.
Our breed of sheep
Our flock at BC Bengal Farm is of the Dorper sheep breed — a breed chosen for its exceptional meat quality, efficient growth and adaptability to pasture‑based environments. Research shows Dorpers can achieve rapid finishing weights and produce carcasses with strong muscle development and favourable fat composition. Moreover, studies reveal that with the right feeding system, the meat of Dorper sheep shows lower saturated fat and total cholesterol levels, contributing to a cleaner, healthier product for you.
